Liquid Diet - Day 2

Yesterday I started another liquid diet. Summer is almost here and I haven't made any progress in getting in shape. I'm hoping a 10-day  liquid diet will be the kick start I need. Last night, I dusted off my juicing machine and juiced up a bag of "Ready to Eat" spinach. Yesterday was the first day of the diet. Hopefully, work won't stress me out so much that I'll be too tired to exercise today.

Week 6 of 12, Day 38

Yesterday, I was very tired after work, however, I was very pleased they I did my one hour run. It took me an hour and four minutes to finish. Even though I finished the same distance in 57 minutes the day before, I was very pleased that I went out to run.

Today is a very wet and rainy day, so we will see.

Week 6 of 12, Day 37

I ran for about an hour. AND, I managed to avoid eating anything about I returned home about 8pm. My goal for this week is to try running an hour each evening until Thursday, and avoid eating anything after 8pm.

Week 5 of 12, Day 32

Yesterday turned out to be an okay, nice day. I enjoyed lunch, and was able to leave work at a nice, normal time. I went for a run. Since I haven't been running in almost two weeks, I settled for a 45 minute run. What was nice was being too tired to eat. I woke up tired, but I was able to get ready without having to rush.

Work stress had me up at 2am until about 6am...then, I start to get tired. No workout last night. I did have KFC and a pint of Ben & Jerry AND two donuts.

Head cold, and tired groom the weekend. I didn't do any workout. I'm feeling a bit annoyed that I'm into a fifth week of supposedly working out, and I have nothing to show after five weeks. :-(

Week 5 of 12, Day 29

My Start Trek Weekend was okay. Since I usually sleep away the weekend, I can't say that it was a waste of time. I was expecting a full weekend of different workshops, panels and other similar activities. Basically, it was a three-day "meet the actors" event. Some actors were nice others weren't. I walked the vendors area in five minutes, and after that the rest was just a trial of endurance.

Week 4 of 12, Day 26

Yesterday interning was very pleasant. I had my braces adjusted, and I had time to get a great seat in the movie theater. I had dinner at the Mexican restaurant Chipotle. Unfortunately, I ate 3 donuts afterwards. I was still hungry later. At home I packed my bag for the trip this weekend to a Star Trek convention. I woke up tired, but managed to catch my train. I hope work stress isn't too bad today.

Week 4 of 12, Day 23

I'm slipping back to bad routines...again. Yesterday, I left work about 8:15pm, returned home about 10:00pm, so I didn't workout. Even worse, I ended up eating about 600 calories over my budget. I woke up about 2am, and couldn't go back to sleep until about 5am. Today, I will try to leave work about 5:pm so that I can go for a run this evening.

Week 4 of 12, Day 22

I managed to run Sunday morning. My workout goal this week will be a bit tricky. I will try to run  Monday thru Wednesday in the evening. Thursday and Friday I will try to run in the morning. This week, I have to make an appointment for a dental cleaning. I have a very nice orthodontist, but she doesn't do cleaning. Thursday, I have my braces adjusted, AND I'm going to see the "Best of Both Worlds" Star Trek movie. And on Friday evening, I'm leaving to visit my first Star Trek convention. And on top of everything, I have the usual work stress I haven't been able to deal with.

Week 3, Day 19

Yesterday evening I was cold and tired. However, I managed to do my evening run. It took me five extra minutes to finish my one hour run, but I did finish.

Also, I accomplished my goal for the week of running four evenings. My plan was to run this morning before work for 30 minutes, so that I could attend a Weight Watchers meeting. However, I'm going to skip the meeting so that I can do a full hour run.

Week 3, Day 18

Yesterday, I managed to start and finish jogging for one hour before in got dark. I was tired from being on my feet for most of the day, and a part of me thought I might not be up for a run, but I managed. At the 30 minute halfway point, I was four minutes behind my usual time. However, I was able to pick up three of the minutes on the way back.

This morning, I managed to leave for work an hour earlier that my regular time. If I can run this evening, I will have completed my weekly goal of running four evenings this week.

Tomorrow, I will have to run in the morning because I'm suppose to attend a Weight Watchers meeting.

Week 3 of 12, Day 17

I managed to leave work early enough to go for a run. Unfortunately, I ended up doing it in a wooded area in the dark with a flashlight. Not being able to see more than four feet in front of me wasn't a good feeling. The plan was to only run for 45 minutes. But since it was dark, I missed my markers and ended up doing my one-hour run.

Yes, I did manage to go for a run yesterday evening. 45 minutes. With the run, I was able to add about 400 calories to my calorie bank, so I didn't binge eat. I will try to do the same this evening.

Week 3 of 12, Day 15

Last week stress had me so tied in knots, I was not focused on my 12 week exercise/diet plan. Out was leaving work near 9:00pm every night, thinking about what I didn't do, and what I should try to do in terms of paperwork. I almost slept the weekend away. I woke up this morning about 2:30am and couldn't go back to sleep until about three hours later. I managed to catch my train. This week, I will try to force myself to run AFTER work until Thursday. I also need to start counting my calories again. I also need to try attending a Weight Watchers meeting on Friday. Those are my goals for this week. I'll try to blog each day as well.

Week 2, Day 11

I did manage to do my morning run yesterday, but I didn't have time to blog it. Work stress has me leaving work about 9pm each night this week. This morning, I didn't do my morning run. I'm really annoyed with myself. I haven't been consultant with the diet part of my 12 week plan, but I was pleased with my consistency with being able to wake up to go run for thirty minutes. Instead of losing weight, I've started gaining weight. I'm up to 194lbs. I can't afford to stop the morning run. I will have to really try to go running this evening. I really hope I can.

Last night I had dinner at the Pizza Hut in the Target Store. I had two pizzas and a chicken salad. This morning I barely, made it out for my morning run.  I also managed to pack my lunch, and then proceeded to leave it at home rushing out to catch a train. No, I haven't started double workouts yet.

Week 2, Day 8

Yesterday, I lost my focus. I reverted back to my bad habit...sleep. I didn't run yesterday. I spent must of the day in bed. Luckily, I was able to wake up early enough (just barely) this morning to do my morning run. This week I will try to double up my workout. Morning run with an alternating evening workout. 30 minutes on either my rowing machine or stationary bike. I also need to start using my iron bar to learn how to do a pull up (chin up). Right now I can't do one (of either). My goal is to be able to do 15 to 20 by the end of these 12 weeks.

Day 3

First day after spring break. I really, really wasn't in the mood to do my morning run. However, I eventually managed to do it. Hay for me!!!

I also managed to pack my healthy choice lunch and dinner. Yes, dinner. Too many times I leave work so late that I only have time for fast food. I hope I can keep this new routine up for the next 12 weeks.

Day 2

Today us the last day of my dieting break vacation. Although I got off to a very slow start, I did manage to go for 45 minute run. I did not dress for the cold and windy weather. Hopefully I won't get sick. Yesterday, I managed to eat 1,100 calories. The three tiny bags of popcorn chips 270cal. total for the three bags pushed me over the 1,000 mark.

Day 1

Having failed the first Body for Life challenge, I've started again. Today is day 1. I went to the nearby park for a morning run. Since I haven't exercised in months, I was expecting to struggle to finish a 20 minute run. I told myself that I would try to just run without looking at my watch for as long as possible. I was surprised when I first looked at my watch and saw that I had been running for 33 minutes. I continued running until I finished 45 minutes.

I'll be using the Body for Life plan (modified), as well as attending Weight Watcher's weekly meetings. I'll also be using dieting and exercising apps I downloaded onto my smartphone.

My goal is to lose 30lbs by the end of June.

I didn't do my 45 minute workout yesterday. However, I  did a 45 minute workout on my stationary bike this morning. Not a very good first week. I'm going to have to step it up next week if I'm going to make my BFL goal to lose 30lbs in 12-weeks.

45 minutes on stationary bike this morning. Unfortunately, I had KFC last night. I'm going to have to work on dealing with work stress. Today I managed to pack my lunch AND healthy snacks to avoid the ravenous hunger I've had after work the last two days.
